The Southern Russian Republic of Daghestan is to mount its first-ever national pavilion at a Middle East trade show when a government-backed group takes part in Ambiente Arabia—the international gifts and homeware show open in Dubai in September 23.
Organized by Dubai-based Interdag with the backing of the government of the Daghestan Republic, the 42 square-meter pavilion will house around 10 companies displaying traditional gold, silver and wooden handicrafts as well as hand-made rugs and carpets.
“We believe the product range will meet with huge success in this region because of the wide cultural appeal of Daghestani artifacts, much of which are based along Islamic lines,” said Gadji Salikov, Interdag managing partner. “Good sea and air connections between Daghestan and the Gulf, with our national airline flying weekly into Sharjah, eases transportation of consignment deliveries.”
To date, exhibitors from Europe, Russia and the Indian Sub-continent have confirmed participation in Ambiente Arabia, which will occupy a hall at the Dubai International Exhibition Center. The show, organized by IIR Exhibitions, has been re-launched as a dedicated annual event running alongside the Motexha Autumn fashion and retail exhibition. — (menareport.com)
