The Higher Development Authority of Riyadh City recently announced that it is working to finalize plans for a new program that would transform Riyadh into an information technology hub.
The authority added that the execution of this new plan began two months ago and will be completed by next October, according to reports in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.
The scheme aims at creating an appropriate climate for investment by providing proper infrastructure and incentives that would attract local, regional and international information technology, telecommunication, and Internet companies to Riyadh.
The authority is presently assessing and analyzing pre-existing IT centers throughout the world such as Silicon Valley in California, to aid in the development of its program. ― (MENA Report)
