Remittances of Moroccan expatriates rose by 5.7 percent during the first trimester of 2004, reaching DM 8.57 billion, compared to DM 8.1 billion the previous year, figures released Monday by the Office des Changes (Exchange office) indicated.
In comparison with the average of money transfers over the past five years, i.e DM 6.41 billion, remittances of Moroccan expatriates posted a 33.6 percent rise.
