Regional E-commerce valued at $3 billion

A recently publicized study by the economic researches department of the Egyptian Al-Ahli Bank estimated the value of the electronic commerce in the Arab World at $3 billion in the present time.  

 

The study, reported by Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, estimated that by the end of 2002, the e-commerce in the Arab World will reach $5 billion, compared to $1.3 trillion throughout the rest of the world. 

 

The study revealed also that the value of the electronic-commerce in the Arabian Gulf states presently stands at $1.3 billion. The value of this e-commerce hits $1.2 billion in Egypt and $1.2 billion in the rest of the Arab countries. ¯ (Albawaba-MEBG)
