Reed Exhibitions (RX), the world’s largest organiser of trade and consumer events, is targeting Middle East expansion and has invested in a regional hub in Dubai to further its growth.

“The Middle East is one of the fastest growing global exhibition markets and will be home to some of the world’s most modern exhibitions facilities in the near future,” said Tom Nutley, Chairman, Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) – part of RX.

“Developments, such as Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) and Dubai World Central’s Exhibition City, as well as the massive tourism projects, which will add 55,000 hotels rooms to the UAE’s hospitality sector alone by 2012, ensure the region can host top industry events across various vertical segments as well as growing existing events in terms of exhibitors and visitors.”

RTE will service the Middle East’s premier travel and tourism event – Arabian Travel Market - from Dubai. “We have been operating in the region for more than a decade with an on-ground presence for more than two years,” said Mark Walsh, Group Exhibition Director, RTE.  “This move will help RTE forge stronger relationships with our regional exhibitors - some of who have been with us since the first show – as well as our event partners, with whose support Arabian Travel Market has become such a successful event.

RTE’s UAE Sales Manager Lloyd Kenyon will be based in the Dubai office with more staff expected to join soon.

In a series of new Arabian Travel Market initiatives, RTE plans to increase its customer interface with workshops and seminars for first-time exhibitors to help them make the most of their presence at ATM, which will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from May 1 – 4, 2007.

Other initiatives being introduced for Arabian Travel Market 2007 include an enhanced media centre, working closely with the DICEC on ways of alleviating parking congestion, partnering ATM ground handler Net Tours on improving hotel-venue transfers for international visitors, an improved industry seminar programme and increased Hosted Buyer® Programme.

Arabian Travel Market is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, and under the auspices of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing.
