Raytheon Company has delivered a deployable command and control headquarters for the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
Now fielded in as Sayliyah, Qatar, the CENTCOM Deployable Headquarters (CDHQ) was developed under a contract between Raytheon and the Joint Precision Strike Demonstration Project (JPSD) Office. The contract includes development and support services.
On the ground in Qatar, CENTCOM has used CDHQ to conduct Internal Look, a CENTCOM-sponsored field exercise. The system allows CENTCOM's field commanders to maintain seamless connectivity with theater component command staff and command staff at their main headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
CDHQ provides full command and control capabilities and supports rapid forward deployment of essential personnel.
It is the first deployable command post for unified combatant commanders. CDHQ can be operated anywhere within CENTCOM's area of responsibility. The system's modular design enables connectivity with all the computer servers and communication networks that commanders need.
The CDHQ complex is self-contained and includes everything required for sustained military operations. The complex includes power distribution, office automation, computer networks, and communications connectivity-all housed within a comfortable, portable work environment.
CDHQ was developed in response to CENTCOM's recognition that a forward deployable command post was urgently needed.
