A Dh15 million Abu Dhabi Big Ticket raffle bought in the name of Shojith KS, an Indian expat, not only turned around his fortunes in UAE - but the fortune of 12 other colleagues at his company.
In a first for the Big Ticket team, the host and hostess personally went to the winner's office in Sharjah to hand him the 'mock' cheque (he will get the original cheque next month) as he was unreachable on the night of the draw since he was in Italy for work.
The Big Ticket team had announced that they will then personally visit him to break the good news and congratulate him - but what they discovered made for an emotional video that they posted on Wednesday evening on YouTube.
Shojith was going to share the Dh15 million raffle win with 12 expatriate warehouse workers.
This was the third time they had pitched in to buy a Big Ticket and plan to use the winning to not only improve the lives of their families but 'help others too without fear', Shojith said.
