The international hotel chain Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts is launching a new promotional campaign aimed at boosting confidence in Jordan as a leisure destination and building business at its five-star properties in Amman and Aqaba.

In the first campaign initiative, the chain has launched competitive rates for its two Jordanian properties. “Business at both destinations has suffered in the wake of the international tourism downturn and we are determined to address the issue,” said Mike Pilkington, Regional Director, Sales & Marketing, Middle East and China, Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts.

“The campaign will be rolled out internationally via our network in 38 countries as well as our global web initiative and regionally through an integrated communications campaign, which will span print advertising, a direct sales blitz, telesales and partner and e-marketing initiatives with Emirates airline among others.”

Until March 31, 2002, a total of 10,000 combined room nights will be offered at the 260-room Radisson SAS Hotel, Amman and the 253-room Radisson SAS Hotel, Aqaba, at a rate of 33.33 Jordanian dinars ($47.4) per room, per night in Amman and JD29.99 in Aqaba. The room rate is excluding tax, service charge and breakfast.

“This is the first of many value-added initiatives through which we plan to attract travelers to Jordan,” said Pilkington. “Our two properties, one at the heart of the capital’s commercial and diplomatic district, the other on the shores of the Red Sea, are a great combination for business or leisure travel.”

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts currently operates eight properties in the Middle East and North Africa in Amman, Aqaba, Baku, Istanbul, Kuwait, Manama, Muscat and Sharm Al-Sheikh in Egypt. Three more Egyptian properties in Hurghada, Taba and Al-Quesir are due on line soon. Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts currently includes 110 hotels in operation and 30 hotels under development in 38 countries. Radisson Hotels & Resorts and its parent company Carlson Hospitality Worldwide includes 750 hotel and resort locations representing 130,658 guest rooms in 63 countries plus six luxury cruise ships sailing worldwide. — (menareport.com)
