Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas) and Microsoft have announced the signing of a technology agreement that allows the liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer to standardize its Information Technology (IT) structure on the latest Microsoft platform.
The deal will provide Qatargas, with a reduced total cost of technology acquisition, software asset management, deployment as well as ongoing upgrades. Commenting on the agreement, Manager for Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain Ali Dalloul said that the accord was an indication of the company’s resolve to support Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), stated a company press release.
Mideast Data Systems (MDS), a certified Microsoft partner in Qatar, was responsible for the technology deployment for the project. MDS Qatar is a leading IT solutions provider in Qatar, primarily focused on delivering infrastructure solutions to organizations. MDS Qatar is a subsidiary of MDS group, with offices in most of the Middle East and Europe.
Microsoft opened its Dubai-based Middle East headquarters office in 1991 and also has offices in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In 1999, Microsoft opened offices in Lebanon, Kuwait and Pakistan and offices in Jordan and Oman in early 2001. — (menareport.com)
