Several Qatari women have demanded that the government allot plots of land and permit them to gain loans from local banks to construct houses or engage in business, the Al Sharq daily reported.
Somaya Al Mutawa, Supervisor at the Supreme Education Council, conveyed the state was already providing accommodation and allowances to women who had lost husbands or were divorced. However, there was a huge number of women who never had the opportunity to marry for some reason or the other.
These women need to sustain themselves and hence, they need plots of land and get loans to build houses.
