Qatar Tourism Authority website launched

Afkar Information Technology and Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) have launched a website encompassing all information a tourist needs to visit Qatar. The site is currently available in English and Arabic but will also be available in French, Germany, Italian and Spanish in three months.  

 

The website will play an important role in achieving the QTA mission of developing, coordinating, and managing tourism, in order to boost the local economy, adding that QTA also seeks to preserve the Qatari culture and traditions by promoting Qatar abroad. 

 

The website provides information and services about Qatar, including geography, history, cultural practices, economy, education, media, health and sports and would cover most of the events in the country. It also gives tips for visitors planning a trip to Qatar by suggesting tour operators, hotel promotions, car rentals and useful contacts as well as visa information.  

 

Launched in the year 2000 with the mission to develop, co-ordinate and manage tourism in Qatar in order to maximize the local economy and to preserve the Qatari culture and traditions. QTA brings together various businesses and agencies that work in tourism in Qatar and gives a new impetus to the development and promotion of the tourism industry. 

 

The International team of the QTA consists of 11 different nationalities. The majority of the employees and all the members of the Board of Directors are Qatari Nationals. QTA team speaks eight different languages. Arabic and English are used for official correspondence. — (menareport.com)
