Qatar Telecom earned $89 million revenues in 1Q 2002

Qatar Telecom (Q-Tel) recorded 323.2 million rials ($88.7 million) in revenues in the first quarter of 2002, an 18 percent rise compared with figures from the previous year. The company’s net profit increased by 24.7 percent during the same period, reaching QR 269.3 million, reported the Gulf Times.  

 

Demand for international telephony services also increased significantly between January and March 2002, with volume increasing by 21 percent in the first three months of 2002 compared with the same period in the previous year. This produced a 16 percent increase in revenues.  

 

Qatar Telecom was established in 1998, after the Qatar Public Telecommunications Corporation merged with the Qatar National Telephone Service, Cable and Wireless and the Telecommunications Department at the Ministry of Communications and Transport. — (menareport.com)
