Al-Wasat newspaper has quoted data on the rent rates for properties during the third quarter 2005 as published in a report of the Qatari Economy and Trade Ministry. Average monthly rents for a small apartment were about QR3750, in comparison to QR 3500 in second quarter 2005. Average monthly rents for a large apartment were about QR4750, compared to QR5000 in second quarter 2005. Rents in general were up 5.4% over second quarter 2005.
