Private tuition centres, mainly those catering to Asian expatriate students are among the worst hit by the mounting building rents in Qatar. According to the Peninsula, centres offering coaching in various subjects for school-going students had sprung up in the country after the Qatari Ministry of Education imposed a ban on private tuitions a few years ago. Only licensed coaching centres were allowed to operate.
