Qatar Islamic bank (QIB) and technology corporation NCR have signed a deal to deploy the bank with an automated teller machine (ATM) network.
The network will give QIB branches and off-site locations the capability to provide services such as bill payment, web advertising and smart-card applications via the self-service channel.
“We have over 30 ATMs across the country and soon we will have over 100 machines…” said Chairman and Managing Director of QIB, Khalid Bin Ahmad Al-Sowaidi. QIB will deploy NCR's Personas 70, Personas 75, Personas 86 and Personas 88 ATMs across Qatar. The bank will be among the first banks in the region to deploy the latest cash and cheque automated deposit solutions and web kiosk that comply with Triple DES and EMV Level 1 standards.
QIB was established in 1983 as a Qatari shareholding company to provide banking services in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia. The Bank carries out all banking services, investment and financing activities through various Islamic modes of financing. It also carries out investment activities for its own account and on behalf of its customers. — (menareport.com)
