Qatar Airways has decided not to proceed with the announced investment in American Airlines, it was announced yesterday.
The decision came after examining the possibilities of investment in various respects and taking into account the recently announced financial statements of American Airlines, where Qatar Airways concluded that the investment does not meet the objectives set for it, the carrier said in a statement, as reported by QNA, Qatar's official news agency.
The Doha-based carrier said it would continue to seek alternative investment opportunities in the US and other countries to meet its targets and also continue to look for ways to invest in the global aviation industry as part of its efforts to provide best-in-class travel experiences for customers.
