The Qatar Football Association has announced two mega-projects that include a $134m seven-star luxury hotel and a $94m village dedicated to mobile telecommunication technology.

According to The Peninsula, the 30-storey Digital Sports hotel is viewed as a pace-setter in the country's tourism industry, which is poised for a boom with the upcoming Asian Games in 2006.

The project, which is to be executed in 32 months, has been designed to accommodate the rapidly growing need for hotel accommodations in Qatar. The hotel will offer all standard amenities with 7-star services including a wide range of rooms; Deluxe and Executive Rooms, Junior and Executive Suites and a Royal Pavilion.
