The Project Management Institute-Arabian Gulf Chapter (PMI-AGC) will host a conference entitled, The Worley Group: A case study of InControl, on April 24, 2002, at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dubai, offering decision makers the opportunity to learn recent strategies in project management.

The presentation, which is sponsored by the Worley Group, is based on the case study of Worley Ltd, one of the world’s largest independent Project Management and Engineering Groups and its use of InControl, a project lifecycle management tool to generate greater efficiency.

“The rapid development of technology has created a new dimension to project management. With the business environment becoming highly competitive, large enterprises are on the lookout for innovative technology tools that will facilitate the implementation of processes across business units, to optimize efficiency, increase reliability and reduce downtime,” said Bassam Al-Samman, Chapter Director and President, Projacs, UAE. “InControl is one such specialized tool that integrates a range of functions and provides users with shared and trusted information from concept to completion of a project.”

The seminar will discuss the challenges faced by organizations delivering complex projects in an international environment and detail the tools available to facilitate this process. Project Management Institute is a non-profit organization founded in 1969 in the USA to develop and propagate professional and standard practices for project management.

To date, there are more than 65,000 members and 200 Chapters of PMI worldwide. The PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter was set up in 1992 with a vision to enhance Project Management to become a "Profession of Choice" within the Gulf Region and the Middle East. Its mission for the year 2002 is to promote and increase membership, encourage involvement of professionals and members in its activities, and educate members by providing quality presentations and seminars. — (menareport.com)
