The U.S. delegation held a number of meetings with senior Qatari officials headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Defense Affairs.

Under the patronage of Qatar’s Ministry of Defense, a senior delegation from the United States (U.S.) Senate and House Armed Services Committee visited Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q) recently. Brigadier General Yousef Al Kuwari, the Qatar Defense Attaché to the U.S. and Ms. Sarah Elzeini, Government Affairs Advisor to Qatar Defense Attaché in the U.S., arranged the visit, which aimed to exchange views on the regional developments and issues of concern.

The U.S. delegation held a number of meetings with senior Qatari officials headed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah focusing on domains of defense and security among other topics of mutual interest.

During their visit to GU-Q, the U.S. delegation met with Dean Ahmad Dallal, and exchanged views with a number of senior faculty members, including Professor Gerd Nonneman, and Professor Mehran Kamrava, the director of Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS) at the university, and Professor Rory Miller.
