Umniah supports local technology and engineering sectors

During the event

Umniah sponsored the region's leading event in applied electrical engineering and computing technologies (AEECT 2015) to support latest inventions and researches in the local markets. The conference was organized by the IEEE – Jordan Section, and was held at the Movenpick Hotel – Dead Sea from the 3^rd to 5^th of November.

Umniah considered its contribution as an opportunity to provide unique forum to discuss practical approach in applied electrical engineering and computing technology fields, solve national problems that face Jordan and other developing countries, and support local postgraduate students to publicize their unique researches and discuss engineering issues that interfere their scientific and practical paths. This Conference came as second support of the same field by sponsoring the 9th Jordanian International Electrical & Electronics Engineering Conference 2015 (JIEEEC) that was held in Amman last month.

During the Conference, Umniah had the opportunity to offer and showcase its latest services and technologies, including a video presentation of the UControl system, which is a turnkey service for home automation to monitor and manage any connected device anytime, anywhere.

From his side, Mr. Waseem Al Rousan, IT Director at Umniah commented: "the Conference helps researchers and professionals to discuss their latest findings in electrical engineering and applied sciences, and come up with conclusions and recommendations that will take Jordan’s engineering and information technology sectors to the level."

The conference was organized with the support of different organizations including Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Scientific Research Support Fund, King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), Philadelphia University, University of Petra, Jordan Tourism Board, Royal Jordanian Geographic Center and Jordan Engineers Association.

It’s worth mentioning that IEEE is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world.
