Turkish food festival at Ramada Abu Dhabi Corniche

Ramada Abu Dhabi Corniche is hosting a culinary treat between 25^th – 30^th of January with a fantastic week of Turkish food festival prepared by prominent chefs from Istanbul.

The food festival will start in January and will end in April as part of a series of traditional events organized by the hotel exploring cuisines from Silk Road countries.

The hotel’s General Manager Mr. Julien Pechey said there are plans to host other food festivals involving cuisine from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and China. He said delegates from the Turkish embassy in the UAE and the Turkish business council in Abu Dhabi would attend the Turkish food festival, which will be held in Lemon Lounge Restaurant.

Marketing and Sales Manager Mr. Ismail Ibrahim said the event would promote Turkish folklore and culture, adding that three well known Turkish chefs from Istanbul would come to Abu Dhabi to take part in the festival.

He said the event also includes Turkish cultural and art performances to revive the Silk Route which originates from China through Turkey and Central Asia.

“This event is intended mainly to highlight Turkey’s culture, heritage and history. We are offering our guests a mixture of Turkish kitchen, culture and heritage. This kitchen brings together the cultures and civilizations of Turkey and the Arab world as well as the Persian and Indian cultures,” he said.

The event also involves an exhibition of traditional industries, including Turkish carpets, fashion, jewelry, accessories and sweets.

He said the festival is also designed to highlight Turkey’s culture, which has deep roots in history.

Turkish dishes to be served during the festival include famous Turkish appetizers, fresh oven pizza, cooked vine leaves and Kufta, beans, red meat, sheesh kebab, Almanti, Turkish rice with grit, Iskandar Kebabs, shawarma, vegetable dishes and many more.

An executive chef involved in the festival praised the Turkish kitchen, which he said is one of the best.

He said it includes a blend of tastes and mixtures that illustrate the history of various areas and cultures dating back to the Ottoman era. “We invite our guests to come and enjoy our food and interact with our partners,” he said.
