Toyota’s production surpasses 200 million cars

Following the latest report released by Toyota Motor Corporation declaring positive results in production, sales and export, Toyota Motor Corporation announced that its worldwide cumulative vehicle production surpassed 200 million cars in June 2012.

The company which began with the production of the G1 truck in August 1935 has achieved this milestone in 76 years and 11 months. As of the end of June, cumulative production in Japan totaled 145.21 million vehicles and overseas production totaled 55.12 million vehicles.

Marking the achievement, Simon Frith, Managing Director Al-Futtaim Motors said: "Once more, Al-Futtaim Motors feels very privileged for being the UAE exclusive distributors of the world’s number one car manufacturer. He added: “The UAE market is one of the most established and promising markets for Toyota. Our financial results for the first half of this year are excellent, with an increase in sales of 36% year on year. It makes us very proud to know we are contributing to Toyota’s worldwide success” Frith added.

The most-produced model among Toyota vehicles is Corolla,the cumulative worldwide production of which totaled 39.08 million units till date.
