Toyota dominates consumer reports Top Picks for 2012

Toyota Motor Corporation recently announced that five of its Toyota models were placed on the Consumer Reports Top Picks for 2012 list. Toyota bested all of its competitors, while notably distinguishing itself as the first automobile brand to earn half of the top 10 spots in nearly a decade.
According to the report, Toyota models that made the Top Picks list include the Camry Hybrid in the family sedan category, the Highlander in the family SUV category, the RAV4 in the small SUV category, the Sienna V6 in the family hauler category, and finally for the 11th time and the ninth consecutive year the Toyota Prius in the environmentally friendly category.
Founded in 1936, Consumer Reports is the world's largest independent product-testing organization. Using more than 50 labs, an auto test center, and a survey research center, the non-profit rates thousands of products and services annually. More than 50 individual tests are performed on every vehicle, including evaluations of braking, handling, comfort, convenience, safety, and fuel economy.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 15 Toyota, Lexus, and Scion vehicles have earned the annual Top Safety Pick awards for their 2012 line-up of vehicles. Toyota has won more of these safety awards than any other automaker.
