Technology experts worldwide hail Huawei P8

The whole world is talking about Huawei’s smartphones which were launched to global markets. Ever since Huawei’s launch, it’s become uniquely the top topic for specialists’ pages all over the world and the hotspot of international press agencies. BBC has allocated huge spaces for the unique P8 phones, where it commented saying that many reviewers were impressed with the design of a smartwatch unveiled in Barcelona, which one tech blog described as "the surprise hit" of the trade fair.

On the other hand, Ben Wood, from the tech consultancy CCS Insight, said Western consumers still perceived it as being a "value-for-money brand". The new Android-powered phones, which were unveiled in London, come in two sizes - the basic P8 with a 5.2in screen and the P8max with a larger than normal 6.8in display. Both feature a 13 megapixel rear camera whose image sensor includes pixels dedicated to measuring white light as well as the more common red, green and blue color pixels. This delivers improved images in high contrast and low light situations. The P8 offers a better technology that minimizes camera shake.

Huawei's new camera technology is impressive and it's invested a lot in the associated software to make it quick. The knuckle sense technology that you to double-tap the screen with your knuckle to take a screenshot - that's going to appeal to the Snapchat generation wanting to capture pictures before they disappear," said Mr. Wood.

As for Reuters, it mentioned that P8 and P8 max flagships stack up against the latest models from Samsung and Apple in technical specifications if not marketing budget. Made from a single piece of metal, P8 is thinner than its rivals, with a width of 6.4 mm, in addition to Huawei’s larger version; the P8 Max which comes with a 6.8in screen.

According to research group Gartner, Huawei’s volume has grew globally in the mobile phone market to become a major player in the smartphone global sales, shipping 68 million units.  Seeking to differentiate itself from rivals, Huawei showed it could innovate, with features such as "knuckle sense", which can differentiate between a knuckle and a finger to select and share content. It also optimized the devices' cameras to take "Selfies", including an ability to adjust skin tones.

Expert Reviews has showcases the new Huawei flagships. The website announced that the P8 is a huge leap forward in terms of design. Available in 'Mystic Champagne', 'Prestige Gold', 'Titanium Grey' and 'Carbon Black', its beautiful chamfered edges and rounded sides are extremely comfortable to hold in your hand and its subtle glistening finish will no doubt draw several comparisons to the iPhone 6. This provides 32% higher brightness and contrast levels and cuts down on noise in low light by 78%, leading to brighter, more detailed images in a wider variety of conditions. It also has optical image stabilization, but Huawei's increased the anti-shake angle to 1.2 degrees compared to iPhone 6. This should help the camera take better pictures in low light and record more stable video footage.

Moreover, According to Expert Reviews, Huawei's included a DSLR-level independent image signal processor on the P8, which should help noise reduction in low light.

The front camera, on the other hand, has a 5-megapixel sensor and has a 'Perfect Selfie' mode, otherwise known as an enhanced 'beauty mode'. You'll also be able to use the P8 together with up to three other smartphones to create videos from four different angles simultaneously using Huawei's new Director Mode.

Expert Reviews stated that Huawei provided its new flagships with a 2,000 mAh battery which should be able to last a full day under heavy usage and 1.5 days in normal use. The P8 also has the world's first app power consumption firewall, according to Huawei, which will monitor your apps' power usage, such as those always working away in the background, for instance, and block anything that seems to be using too much energy. This will apparently prolong the phone's standby time by an extra 2.3 days. This gives P8 the advantage it needs over other top flagship phones this year such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, in the website’s continuous video playback tests. 

Android Authority - The renowned and specialized website in reviewing capabilities of phones supported by Android – has exclusively reviewed Huawei’s P8 rear camera. It stated that P8’s rear camera leads its counterpart, Samsung Galaxy S6, which sports a 5MP front facing camera, while the P8 has a 8MP front snapper. The P8 comes with Huawei’s Beauty Level feature that can be used to accentuate your best features when taking selfies.

Android Authority added that the key reason for Huawei to gloat about the thickness of the P8 is the rear camera. The Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and even the iPhone 6all feature rear cameras that stick out a little from the back of the phone but with the P8, Huawei have managed to make the 13MP camera sit completely flush. The handset comes with Optical Image Stabilization as well, which is considered a crowning of the Huawei’s achievements in 2015.
