Tamkeen wins HRH Princess Sabeeka Award for the category of Best Supporter of Productive Families

Tamkeen won HRH Princess Sabeeka Award for the category of Best Supporter of Productive Families at a ceremony which took place on Wednesday (March 25). This is the first time Tamkeen has won the award which recognizes its commitment s commitment to support initiatives which lay solid foundations for the sustainable development of the national economy, including economic empowerment of women and entrepreneurship.
Tamkeen’s has worked closely with the Ministry of Social Development to support around 2300 productive families and microenterprise via 10 different projects at a value of BD 1.4 million. Among them Tamkeen’s Microfinance Scheme, which provides financing solutions for productive families, in addition to , providing grants to set up new micro businesses, organising exhibitions and shopping bazaars to provide more exposure for small businesses, and many others.

Tamkeen is a public authority established in August 2006, tasked with supporting Bahrain’s private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic growth and development. Tamkeen is one of the cornerstones of Bahrain’s national reform initiatives and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Tamkeen has two primary objectives - firstly, foster the development and growth of enterprises, and second provide support to enhance the productivity and training of the national workforce. To achieve these objectives -Tamkeen’s 2018-2020 strategy focuses on Diversifying offerings, Accelerate delivery and Sustaining Impact.
