Tamkeen commences 2012 operational plan public consultations

As part of its commitment to transparency and closer stakeholder engagement, Tamkeen recently held its first stakeholder meeting with Bahrain-based media outlets to share and discuss Tamkeen’s 2012 Operational plan.
During the meeting, Tamkeen senior management, headed by Chief Executive Mr. Mahmood Hashem Al-Kooheji, went through the plan with representatives from Bahrain’s key media outlets, followed by an open session for inquiries and feedback.
Public Consultations will take place over a period of 2 weeks, and will also include sessions with beneficiaries, service providers, partners, government agencies, and legislative bodies, among others. The consultations will serve as an ideal platform for stakeholders to provide input and create a better understanding of Tamkeen’s objectives, current and upcoming projects, processes, and role as a driver of economic growth and development in accordance with Economic Vision 2030.
Tamkeen has allocated BD107 million for various projects and programmes in 2012 which will serve more than 22,000 individuals and private sector enterprises.

Tamkeen is a public authority established in August 2006, tasked with supporting Bahrain’s private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic growth and development. Tamkeen is one of the cornerstones of Bahrain’s national reform initiatives and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Tamkeen has two primary objectives - firstly, foster the development and growth of enterprises, and second provide support to enhance the productivity and training of the national workforce. To achieve these objectives -Tamkeen’s 2018-2020 strategy focuses on Diversifying offerings, Accelerate delivery and Sustaining Impact.
