As part of its continuous efforts to develop and boost the skills of Bahrainis and make them the employees of choice, Tamkeen announced today that it has signed an agreement with Air Arabia to provide Bahraini Aviation Cadet Trainees who have obtained their basic licenses with the line training necessary to enable them to be employed as first officer pilots.

This follows the agreement between Tamkeen and Bahrain Development Bank to reschedule loans for the trainees, as well as the announcement of the agreement with Gulf Air during February of this year to provide line training for 100 cadets. The deal between Tamkeen and Air Arabia is part of Tamkeen's continuous efforts to find alternative solutions to aviation graduates and trainees. In a recent meeting, Tamkeen Board members and the management team discussed the best options and the most appropriate solutions to address the issue and help trainees and graduates find suitable jobs.

"The signing of this agreement with Air Arabia will give the trainees an opportunity to gain regional experience that will allow them to obtain the necessary licensing and knowledge to open up more employment opportunities for them." said Tamkeen’s Acting Vice President for Human Capital Development Ms. Amal Al-Kooheji. "This will provide trainees with training and job opportunities with regional and international carriers, which confirms that Bahrainis possess the skills and qualifications to obtain jobs based on their internationally recognised certifications and qualifications." she added.

More than 75,000 Bahrainis and Bahraini enterprises have benefited from Tamkeen programmes to date, with the number set to rise to 100,000.
