Student Council elections in PMU campus

Furthering its attempt to motivate the students community to inculcate leadership skill in them, Prince Mohammad bin Fahd (PMU) authorities have set up committee to monitor the Student Council elections inside its campus. This arrangement ensures whole election exercise remains fair and equal opportunity is available for every contestant. Election results would be declared sooner.  

Students contesting in the elections do all types of campaigns inside different colleges of PMU to increase winning chances. They feel rejuvenated that an opportunity has been provided to them to show unity. Contestants use different means to campaign and this would  develop a competitive spirit in them. The student leaders express agendas, plans and projects to implement in future if voted a winner in the PMU Student Council election. 

PMU authorities offer best support to students participating in the election as contestants and voters. Elected students, as key members of the University Student Council, will get chance to polish their leadership qualities further. The university expects them to attain such abilities besides honing their technical and professional merits which they gain from the globally enriched faculties here. Students groom academically and at the same juncture their participation in these activities help them develop an ability to think critically, learn problem solving skills, gain teamwork ability and attain leadership qualities which inculcate in them a questioning spirit.  

Elections groom students to develop culture to participate in extracurricular activities. Such activities are as important as gaining theoretical knowledge in the classrooms. They offer chance to share and practice freedom of opinion and support movement of creativity inside PMU campus. 

“Such elections are equally important to build the character of students as they help them understand university culture perceptively in which coordination with faculty members become more insightful,” said a statement from the Department of Student Affairs at PMU. “They should be guided in such manner that graduates moving ahead in respective professions develop complete self-confidence,” said this statement further. 

Purpose of conducting PMU Student Council election is to develop competitive spirit among students and making them liable to take responsibilities in various clubs. The activities they do through organizing many events reflect their leanings in the university life. The university has Aviation, Chess, Languages, Book, Drama, Photography and many other clubs where its graduates involve nourishing skills while they attain academic pursuits.
