STC group to join UN-Sponsored Broadband Commission

STC Group has continued its successive achievements by being currently a member in the UN Sponsored Broadband Commission, the declaration came after Dr. Saad Al-Qahtani, Group CEO for Strategic Operations, received the joint invitation from the Secretary General of the International Telecom. Union (ITU) HamdounToure and the co- president of the commission Irina Bokova, the Director General of the UNESCO.

The invitation came on conjunction with the STC declaration that it has the greater subscribers of the broadband services in the Middle East that stressed its pioneering role in providing modern Technology which enhance its reputation and world prestige as operator of optimum broadbandservices.

The broadband commission has been established in 2010 AD by the UN, to incite developing the infrastructure for broadband services all over the world, and to increase its popularity, rapidly with full capacity, to facilitate communication methods among different nations.         

Broadband Commission highlighted its policies and standards in the 3rd millennium to accomplish developments targets in all social, economic, health, and educational sectors mainly in developing countries.

It comprises senior officials from politics, economists, intellectuals beside representatives from specialized agencies and organizations.
