Standard Chartered organizes regional football tournament for customers and staff

Standard Chartered last week organized a regional football tournament. Five teams of seven players from participating countries where Standard Chartered is present in the Middle East and North Africa (MENAP) region battled to represent the region at the Group Standard Chartered Trophy tournament. The UAE team, comprising of the Bank’s customers, won the final match against Bahrain with a score of 2-0. The tournament was held at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai. 

The UAE team will be playing against 13 teams from across the Bank’s footprint in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and representing the Middle East region at the finals on the 13th of May, 2014. All the winning teams from the various regions will attend an English Premier League match at Anfield, and will receive a professional training session from Liverpool Football Club legends and coaches to help them prepare for the Final tournament. The Standard Chartered Trophy ceremony will be held at the Anfield after the final match.
