Sony PlayStation Vita 3G launches in the UAE, powered by du
Ushering in a new era for the portable gaming industry and delighting gaming fans, du today announced a partnership with Sony PlayStation, to provide data bundles to power the PlayStation Vita 3G - the first handheld gaming system with 3G connectivity – on the telecom's advanced mobile network, supporting the gaming experience with speeds up to 42Mbps. Bundles will be available from du, starting from AED100.
du's advanced network enables a real-time gaming experience with limited latency – a feature that gaming fans will notice and appreciate while involved in group gaming on 3G.
With the PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) 3G, powered by du, users can not only play their favourite games anywhere, but also use the location-based features in the games, while keeping up with their gaming community and other social networks. The PS Vita has an incredibly vibrant five-inch OLED touch screen and rear touch panel, two analogue sticks and a camera in the front and back. Augmented Reality on PS Vita allows fans to capture 360 degree scenery and use it as the background of their next Reality Fighters game, a PS Vita title at launch. Imagine sending characters to fight at the top of Burj Khalifa or at Emirates Palace.
PS Vita 3G allows you to constantly stay connected to your PlayStation life, never lose touch with friends and fellow gamers through some of its powerful social applications such as Party, Live Area and Near, which allows real time gaming on the go, and access to social media applications and the web anywhere and anytime.
Robert Fisser, General Manager, Sony Computer Entertainment in Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India commented: "Today we are very excited to announce du as our network partner in the UAE, I am sure its state-of-the-art network will take the social aspects of network-based gaming to a whole new level."
"The Sony PlayStation Vita 3G represents the latest feat in gaming technology and complements our ultra-high speed Real Mobile Broadband network beautifully. Our customers are discerning early adopters of innovative technology, which makes this the ideal partnership for their benefit," said Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du. "Using the PlayStation Vita 3G on our HSPA+ (4G) data network, users will experience premium network-based gaming anywhere in the country."
The PlayStation Vita 3G will be available for purchase in du Shops across the UAE. Every PlayStation Vita 3G will come with a du data SIM. Users can get their du data SIM activated at authorised partners at no extra cost, and recharging it online is simple with three easy 'more data' bundles available, (750 MB for AED 100, 2 GB for AED 200 and 12 GB for AED 500), offering incredible value to the UAE gaming community.
