Sony’s latest VAIO notebook line-up offers comprehensive entertainment and business features

Sony, the leading consumer electronics brand, today announced the launch of two new series of VAIO notebooks – VAIO S and VAIO C range. The VAIO C line-up features special edition colours in two new exciting patterns while the slim VAIO S series boasts extraordinary battery life and performance levels. The new models offer consumers unparalleled immersive entertainment and business computing while at home or on-the-go. 

VAIO VPCSE17 

The VAIO VPCSE17 is a slim, power-packed 15.5 inch notebook that offers all the performance and thinness of its older 13.3 inch sibling, while adding a larger screen to suit anyone with a need for more room to work and play. 

This notebook computer comes with the Intel Core i7 processor and AMD Radeon HD 6630M GPU with 1GB VRAM. The unit also has Performance Switch that supports Dynamic Hybrid Graphic System. This switch makes it easy to choose between SPEED mode for faster performance, and the STAMINA mode for a longer battery life. 

The VAIO VPCSE17 has five hours of battery life; however, an optional Sheet Battery is available to extend the battery life up to 10 hours. Additionally, it includes a dedicated battery charger that allows users to leave the Sheet Battery at the desk to charge. The optional Sheet Battery is also full-flat, making this ultimate performance laptop easy to be carried around even with the Sheet Battery attached. 

VAIO VPCSE17 series comes in a 1.96 kg and 24.5 mm slender body, with an aluminium palm rest and magnesium body that contribute to its thinness and lightness, while maintaining ruggedness for mobile use. 

To further increase the usability, it comes with a backlit keyboard, which makes it easier to type in dimly lit rooms. Furthermore, video chats with friends and family in a high quality clear picture is realised by HD web camera powered by ‘Exmor’ technology. 

VAIO C Series

In addition to the existing seven dynamic and vivid colours, the new VAIO C Series features design patterns that will come out in two limited edition colours of pink and black - the ultimate PC for those that seek to be noticed. These are designed to brighten up the everyday PC experience, while still providing powerful computing performance. 

For the classy and sophisticated – the two new patterns have a stereoscopic effect that adds its innovative and impressive look. In the black colour limited edition version, the modern geometric pattern has an effect of several unique layers that express a shiny ripple and sharpness. On the other hand, the elegant flower designs in the pink version is modelled around modern art nouveau style and is the perfect design for a wide age-group of women who are chic and keen to create a great impression. 

The notebook also offers easy access through its one click buttons (WEB, ASSIST and VAIO buttons) that provide instant web connectivity for increased productivity and one touch access to VAIO Media Gallery that helps organise music and videos. It also includes the VAIO Care software that helps take care of the system while assisting in troubleshooting. The AMD Radeon 1GB Hybrid Graphics card for visibly smart performance and high picture quality, as well as the second generation Intel Core i5 processor / 500GB HDD / 4GB RAM provide computing power and ample storage capacity.
