Sodic Join Forces With Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation for Its Annual Charity Run

Sixth of October Development & Investment Company “SODIC”, in cooperation with Cairo Runners, hosted the fourth annual SODIC Charity Run in SODIC West to raise funds for “the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation”.

Around 7,000 participants gathered in SODIC West at 7:30 for a 6 km run, which helped in raising more than 438,000 for the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation. This year’s run was attended by celebrities and key public figures who support the cause such as Razan Maghrebi, Bushra, Sherif Ramzy and Reham Abdel Ghafur

For the past three years, SODIC in collaboration with Cairo Runners has organized an annual Charity Run supporting different causes. In 2014, the run helped raise funds to build and operate a school in Ezbet Khairallah, in 2015 the run honoured Breast Cancer Awareness month, raising funds for BAHEYA hospital and in 2016, SODIC and Cairo Runners supported The Breast Cancer Foundation of Egypt (BCFE).

This year’s beneficiary - The Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation - was founded in 2008 by Sir Magdi Yacoub, the late Dr. Ahmed Zewail and Ambassador Mohamed Shaker aims to provide a state-of the art free basic health services to the less privileged across the whole region at the highest international standards.
