Samsung Electronics Levant and Haya Cultural Center Launch “Smart Discovery Lab”

Stemming from its firm belief in the importance of education and the role of technology companies in integrating advanced technologies to develop the children’s creative abilities by providing the latest tools and information technology products, Samsung Electronics Levant launched in cooperation with Haya Cultural Center “HCC”, the “Smart Discovery Lab”.

The establishment of the laboratory; fully equipped with Samsung’s latest devices, is Samsung Electronics Levant most recent project to support education, spread the use of techniques among a larger number of children in Jordan from different age groups.

On the occasion of this launch, a charity Iftar was held for 100 children invited along with the presence of Samsung Electronics Levant and Haya Cultural Center officials and representatives. , At the beginning of the event, the children experienced the various activities in the lab, such as photography and augmented reality, followed by the Iftar meal and a specially prepared play by Haya Cultural Center crew to reflect the beautiful values in our society. And at the end of the event, children received valuable presents.

Diala Khamra, Director of Haya Cultural Center, commented on the Lab launch by saying: "We are grateful to Samsung for equipping this lab and supporting HCC. Facilitating children’s access to technology and building their skills using innovative and modern ways will help them grow to become contributors to technology rather than consumers. We wanted to share the launch with our partner community-based organizations as part of HCC’s efforts to make art and cultural programs accessible to children across governorates.”

The ”Smart Discovery Lab” will provide an integration between technology and HCC’s programs; one of Jordan’s advanced skills development programs for  expanding children’s creativity in many areas: such as photography, movie making, augmented reality, arts and design.
