Samsung launches eco-friendly air conditioners in UAE

the summer heat approaches and dust storms make their way into homes, Samsung Electronics Co., a global leader in electronics and home appliances, announced the launch of a new range of innovative eco-friendly air conditioners. Samsung’s Crystal air conditioner range offers consumers a breath of fresh air to beat summer time heat and diseases by eradicating up to at least 90 percent of air pollutants, while the Max Air Conditioner range cools any living space with up to 31% less energy consumption than conventional air conditioners.   

According to the World Health Organization, Gulf residents suffer a higher rate of asthma and breathing allergies due to the humid climate the region experiences. In the UAE alone one out of five children have asthma and an estimated 40 percent of children suffer from Allergic Rhitinitis due to the high level of dust particles, mold, and allergens in the air. Poor air quality also causes harmful risks to babies and children who are more vulnerable to infections and diseases. Samsung’s Crystal air conditioners feature the innovative Virus Doctor using the S-plasma ion technology that eliminates 99.6 percent of virus causing germs, a unique feature that is not found in conventional air conditioners. 

“If a person has allergies or asthma, breathing clean air becomes very important to that person’s wellbeing. Our new Crystal Range combines the latest technology of air conditioners and air purifiers to dramatically improve indoor air quality so that every breath is a pure, healthy one,” said Robin Kadyan, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Gulf Electronics 

Samsung also introduced the Max Air Conditioner range Model, which operates on the least amount of time to cool the room, saving up to 31 percent of electricity use, while cooling living space up to 15 percent faster than a conventional air conditioner. Samsung Air conditioners also has the UTR plus compressor which makes the AC’s more durable even in very hot weather conditions of up to 54 degree Celsius. 

“Samsung remains committed to developing energy efficient and durable products to ensure that consumers can benefit from reduced energy consumption and save on their electricity bills,” Kadyan added.  

Samsung continues to take strides to develop eco-friendly products. Samsung’s air conditioners have been awarded the Emirates Quality mark from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) after successfully complying with ESMA’s certification requirements.
