In line with its mission to support humanitarian and charitable causes in Jordan, the Samsung Amman International Marathon has partnered up with a number of local NGOs to participate in the Marathon while raising awareness and funds for the notable causes that include the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), I am Human Society for the Rights of Disabled People, El-Hassan Youth Award, Al Hussein Society for the Habilitation and Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged, and Jordan Pharmaceutical Students' Association.

Lina El Kurd, Deputy General Manager of the Amman International Marathon, stated, “All year round we commit ourselves to the community and all segments of the society; to that end, we have partnered up with a number of Jordanian NGOs that will help us in attracting participants to take part in the marathon, and a percentage of their registration fees will be dedicated to that specific charity. We highly appreciate the cooperation of the NGOs who share our same vision of serving our local community”.

The Samsung Amman International Marathon will kick off on Friday October 28th, 2011 to participants above the age of 6 from all over the world. This year’s Marathon will consist of two races— the 42.195 km marathon and the 10 km fun run. The Marathon is also one of the few major sporting events to take place in the region that provides people with special needs with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting prowess.

Registration and online payment for the Marathon are now available on the website at www.amman-marathon.com, where participants can instantly and easily access any information about the race, the route, registration and payment processes, and much more. Participants can also register through the Marathon’s partner NGOs.
