Run Jordan Launches Samsung Amman Marathon

In celebration of the tenth anniversary of Amman Marathon, Run Jordan has expressed full readiness to launch the 10th edition, which will be held on Friday, October 12th, 2018‎, under the slogan "Run to The Heart of Amman".

Samsung Amman Marathon, held under the organization of Run Jordan, is a major sporting event on the local and international level, aimed at promoting the culture of sports and its importance for the development of the society and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Lina El-Kurd, General Manager of Run Jordan, emphasized that the marathon’s mission is not limited to the competitive, tourism or health aspects, but also extends to other noble goals; where some ticket proceeds will go to support charities serving different sectors.

“This year’s event is a culmination of continued success of 10 years of efforts and hardworking,” said El-Kurd. “Amman Marathon provides runners with a close-up view of Amman charming streets, where they enjoy walking and jogging in the streets, finishing the race at the glorious Roman Amphitheater to enjoy a unique experience in all its details.”

Furthermore, Ms. Lina thanked Samsung Electronics for the continued support and efforts to promote sports among people, saying: “Run Jordan is proud to create solid and fruitful partnerships with different companies over the past 10 years, mentioning in particular Samsung Electronics. Samsung is a key partner of the Amman Marathon success, placing Jordan on the international sports map; and promoting it as a unique sports and tourism destination by attracting runners from all over the world to participate and run in Jordan.”

Mr. Changsup Lee, Samsung Electronics Levant President expressed his enthusiasm for sponsoring the marathon for the 9th consecutive year, by saying:  "“We, at Samsung Electronics Levant, are proud of our extended partnership with Run Jordan over the past years to promote for a healthier lifestyle. Samsung Amman Marathon has become a premier event to attract sports tourism to the heart of Amman, and an eagerly anticipated event every year.”

It’s worth noting that Samsung Amman Marathon is set to kick off on the 12th of October in Amman with four main races: 42km full individual marathon, 21km race, 10km race and a 42km relay race; a new category that has been added as part of the 10th anniversary celebration. In addition to the Children’s Marathon on October 5th at the King Hussein Park.
