St. Regis Doha launches “Encore!” concert series

To recreate the atmosphere of summer concerts in New York at the beginning of the twentieth century, St. Regis Doha today announced the launch of “Encore!,” a new concert series curated by Qatar Music & Arts.
The Encore! Series will bring some of the world’s most distinguished musicians to Doha to play a series of concerts in the magnificent surroundings of the finest address in Qatar. In the first of the series, which takes place at 7pm on Friday 22 June, Amira Fouad will play a selection of Mozart, Chopin and List on the hotel’s brand new Steinway Model D piano.
Music plays a central part in the history of St. Regis, with the original St. Regis New York playing host to a number of concerts for the cream of high society, under the direction of the famous Lady Astor. Executives at the St. Regis Doha are keen to recreate the glamour of those bygone days with the Encore! concert series.. The experience includes refreshments and canapés after the concert, and guests booking VIP seating will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with Amira while enjoying a dining cocktail curated by Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
Tareq Derbas, General Manager, The St. Regis Doha, said: “The Encore! series will offer something truly different for Doha residents, and we hope our first concert will be the start of a series of memorable evenings. Qatar Music & Arts is helping us to bring some of the most celebrated artists to our hotel over the coming months, and we’re delighted to welcome Amira Fouad for our inaugural concert.”
Concert pianist Amira Fouad has toured North America, Europe and the Far and Middle East, and has played such prestigious venues as the Wigmore Hall in London, National Concert Hall in Dublin, Victoria Hall in Singapore and The Museum of Islamic Art, Doha. As well as being the first artist to perform at The St. Regis Doha, she is also the creator of the Qatar Music & Arts initiative, which is supported by Qanas Productions.
