Regional tourists to contribute to sales growth at Jacky’s Electronics during DSF 2012

Jacky’s Electronics is foreseeing a double-digit sales increase as more tourists from Saudi Arabia and Africa are expected to flock its outlets and contribute to its sales during the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) from 5^th January to 5^th February 2012.

According to Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer of Jacky’s Electronics, DSF season is when the company’s sales double over a normal month. “We anticipate this period to be very busy in terms of footfall and sales. Last year, tourists helped contribute to our overall growth and we hope to even surpass it this year,” he said.

Based on the YouGov study commissioned by Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), DSF contributed AED15.1 billion to Dubai’s economy with AED5.9 billion spent by regional and international visitors.

Jacky’s Electronics also expect fast-moving products such as internet TVs, laptops, DSLR cameras, smartphones and tablets to be popular among tourists. In addition, many local residents will look for good deals on appliances as many residential units, especially in areas like Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai and Jumeirah Lakes Towers, are expected to come in the market this year.

“DSF 2012 should be an exciting period for sales.  We have already seen several shoppers holding back major purchases that aren’t related to the festive period in anticipation of DSF,” Panjabi said. 

Meanwhile, this festival period, premium gifts sets such as perfumes, fragrance coffrets, pilot cases and writing instruments from leading brands are given to customers buying electronics products and gadgets from Jacky’s Electronics.
