The clinic, held in Education City, used football as a tool to inspire and empower young women with disabilities

Hosted by Qatar Foundation and the US soccer team, the football clinic was led by Amy Griffin, former US World Cup Champion and current U.S. Deaf Women's National Team Head Coach, along with Stuart Sharp, Senior Technical Director of U.S. Soccer Extended National Team.

The session kicked off with a small-sided game that was played between Griffin, the girls’ Ability Friendly team, and their coaches.

The clinic was attended by Timmy T. Davis, Ambassador of the United States of America to the State of Qatar; Cindy Parlow Cone, President of U.S. Soccer; Alexandra Chalat, Director of World Cup Legacy at Qatar Foundation; Generation Amazing youth advocates, as well as members of the Qatar Women’s National Football Team.

The clinic concluded with a closed-door women’s football roundtable discussion that focused on the opportunities and challenges in disability football, and saw Griffin share her own experience and perspective on women’s and disability football.
