Qatar Music Academy holds professional development workshop

Qatar Music Academy (QMA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), recently held a two-day professional development workshop for 55 music teachers in Doha, presented by Michael Griffin and the QMA Music Departments.
Michael Griffin is an educator, speaker, author, conductor, and pianist. Griffin’s talks are inspired by theory of motivation and the premise that the greatest predictor of success is the quality and the quantity of learning time. Griffin’s workshop aids QMA’s goal of fostering a thriving music culture in Qatar and the region, thereby supporting QF’s commitment to community development and enhanced understanding of arts and culture in Qatar.
The workshop mainly focused on teaching and learning strategies for musical success. Dr Abdul Ghafour Al Heeti, QMA Principal, commented on the workshop, saying: “Qatar Music Academy’s mission is to provide a world class music education. Having this workshop has enabled QMA to develop music teachers in the region and enhance their respective music programmes.”
