Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation (QF), signed three Memorandums of Understanding on the sidelines of the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2018 (ARC’18) today.

The agreements are designed to strengthen and promote the local research and development ecosystem. The entities include: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and Iberdrola QSTP LLC, the European Federation of Corrosion (EFC), and the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT).

Her Excellency Sheikha Hind commented on the signings, saying: “At Qatar Foundation we collaborate with stakeholders in the public and private sectors to shape the future of research and development, both locally and globally, in order to create innovative solutions to today’s most pressing challenges.

“We are delighted, therefore, to be joining hands with these leading entities today. These partnerships will allow us to work together to deliver impact across the nation and beyond, and to further contribute to the development of Qatar. This is particularly pertinent today, at the Qatar Foundation Annual Research Conference 2018.”

The collaboration between Kahramaa and Iberdrola will help to facilitate key developments within the energy and environment sectors in Qatar. The MoU with the EFC will also help to further address areas of national priority within the field of energy and environment.

The agreement with MIGHT has been designed to pave the way for mutually-beneficial research, innovation, and technology development collaborations between Qatar and Malaysia.

ARC’18 is taking place at the Qatar National Convention Centre and is set to conclude on Tuesday, March 20.
