Qatar Foundation For Education, Science and Community Development (QF) will celebrate the Class of 2016 in its annual Convocation ceremony on Tuesday, 3rd May.

649 graduates from Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and QF’s eight partner universities will be honoured during the ceremony, which will be held at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The participants have received Bachelor and Master degrees in various specialisations that have been hand-picked to further the country’s advancement.

Mr Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Naimi, Chief Operations Officer, Qatar Foundation, revealed: “This occasion marks a new chapter in the history of Qatar Foundation and celebrates a new batch of promising and talented graduates who are ready to make their mark on the future. Not only will these students advance the prosperity and progress of Qatar, but they will also contribute to global development, helping to tackle internationally pressing issues by finding and applying innovative solutions to worldwide challenges.”

Ms Mayan Zebeib, Chief Communications Officer, Qatar Foundation, continued, saying: “I would like to congratulate our students and convey the pride we all feel here at Qatar Foundation. And, as our graduates embark on the next stage of their journey, our doors will always be open and we will continue to support them in their pursuit and acquisition of knowledge. Convocation marks a new milestone in their lives.”

Alongside students from HBKU, this year’s Convocation will honour graduates from Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (WCM-Q),  Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q), HEC Paris in Qatar, University College London in Qatar (UCL Qatar), Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (GU-Q), and Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQatar).

Many QF alumni now assume notable and influential positions that enhance Qatar’s ongoing diversification efforts. Their successes provide tangible examples of QF’s pioneering educational role, and demonstrate the success of its all-embracing educational cycle.
