Poetry Matinee at Dubai Customs Entitled 'Thank You Mohammed Bin Zayed'

Dubai Customs organized a poetry matinee at its Knowledge Club entitled “Thank you Mohammed bin Zayed”. The poems were recited by the Emirati poet Thiab Ghanim Al Mazroui in line with the initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to extend thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Princeof Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.The event was attended by a number of poets, writers, along with Dubai Customs heads of departments and employees.

In his welcome note, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of Corporate Communication Department extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Princeof Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. He highlighted the importance of these occasions in enhancing loyalty to the nation, describing poets as real catalysts in conveying messages of love and loyalty to the UAE and its leaders. 

The matinee saw a number of other poets delivering poems dedicated to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,and to express love to the UAE.

In his poems, Thiab Ghanim Al Mazroui highlighted the great role of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in developing the country. The poet also delivered poems recounting the great role of our brave soldiers who sacrificed their souls defending their brothers in Yemen. He also recounted the achievements of Dubai Customs being the first protection line and a major contributor to the economy of Dubai.

At the end of the matinee, Khalil Saqer bin Gharib honoured Thiab and thanked him for coming to Dubai Customs and delivering his poems.
