PLUG INS registers 25 percent growth during GITEX

Driven by strong sales from smartphones, notebooks and panels, PLUG INS, the multi-brand consumer electronics and IT retailer of Al-Futtaim group registered 25 percent sales growth during the autumn edition of the GITEX Shopper 2015.

Sales of smartphones including the Samsung S6 and S6 Edge and Apple iPhone 6S were particularly popular among customers along with Lenovo A6000, LAVA X1 and OBI SF1. 

PLUG INS recorded strong footfall over the eight days of the shopper with the closing weekend witnessing the highest footfall.

Omar Abushaban, General Manager of PLUG INS said, “We’ve had a great GITEX this year. PLUG INS opened with an expectation of 20% growth from our sales during the same period last year. But we are happy to report that sales were beyond our expectations. This shows a strong consumer appetite within the region and confidence in the PLUG INS brand proposition.”
