PepsiCo-Jordan renews exclusive sponsorship of Jordan Football Association’s activities
Building on a successful long-term partnership that was first established in 2009, PepsiCo-Jordan hasrenewed its exclusive sponsorship of Jordan Football Association (JFA). The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Vice President of FIFA and President of JFA, H.R.H. Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, who is a staunch supporter and advocate of Jordanian football. The agreement was inked on Sunday 12th May, 2013, by JFA Secretary General Khalil Al-Salem and PepsiCo-Jordan General Manager Eng. Nidal Hamam.
By virtue of the three-year agreement, PepsiCo-Jordan has renewed its sponsorship of JFA’s activities, as well as the PepsiCo Football League for the Gifted and national football teams which fall under PepsiCo-Jordan’s support to the Prince Ali Centers. The sponsorship also positions Pepsi and Aquafina as the official beverages for JFA and the national teams. This partnership corresponds with H.R.H. Prince Ali’s belief that talented Jordanian football players are the future of Jordanian football and the cornerstone to achieving continuous sporting success on the regional, continental and international fronts.
H.R.H. Prince Ali spoke to JFA’s Board of Directors, Committees and Departments about the importance of supporting the Centers, and their role in bringing forth a lineup of talented Jordanian football stars. He referred to some of the current Jordanian stars, who trained at the Centers and are getting closer to fulfilling Jordan’s lifelong aspiration of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
H.R.H. Prince Ali highlighted the significance of the support that national organizations give to Jordan’s youth and encouraging athletic talent. H.R.H. went on to express his appreciation to PepsiCo-Jordan for its continuous support to the Prince Ali Centers and Jordanian football.
This growing partnership corresponds with PepsiCo-Jordan’s recently launched Yalla Now slogan, which reflects its corporate identity and strategic direction aimed at encouraging youth to develop their hobbies and lead a lifestyle that promotes healthy competition, sportsmanship and a drive to succeed.
A significant number of national teams from different age groups were finalists in official continental leagues, which spurred and encouraged PepsiCo-Jordan to extend its support and sponsorship to the Prince Ali Centers over the past few years.
PepsiCo-Jordan will continue to support the Prince Ali Centers’ trainings and activities under this partnership, which include the annual festival, as well as all Prince Ali Centers across the Kingdom which have grown to encompass 28 Centers. PepsiCo-Jordan will also continue to sponsor all male and female national football teams within different age groups.
“Our longstanding partnership with JFA has yielded proud results, most notable of which is the success of the PepsiCo Football League for the Gifted in motivating talented football players to develop their skills and gain a competitive edge,” commented Eng. Hamam.
“We are confident that the upcoming matches will be very exciting and highly competitive, and we hope that they will spur the rise of new up-and-coming stars who can positively impact Jordanian football,” stated Eng. Hamam.
In turn, Al-Salem expressed how honored he was that H.R.H. Prince attended the official signing ceremony, and reiterated JFA’s pride in renewing its partnership with PepsiCo-Jordan.“PepsiCo-Jordan has proven itself as a staunch supporter of youth and their interests, particularly in the area of sports. This year, we look forward to reaching new heights of success and unveiling fresh athletic talent across the Kingdom. On behalf of JFA, I would like to thank PepsiCo-Jordan for its unwavering commitment and for playing a positive role in this regard,” said Al-Salem.
