Orange Jordan, eLEARNMENT launch pilot e-learning program at four schools in the Kingdom
Orange Jordan recently signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education and Jordanian software development company, eLEARNMENT, to launch a pilot e-learning program at four public schools in Amman, which will allow students to completely replace their paper-based curriculum with purely digitized versions. The agreement falls under the umbrella of the ministry’s flagship e-learning program, Minhaji.
Through the pilot program, which is currently being tested by students in grades 4 to 6 at several schools in the Kingdom — including Akef Al Fayez, Um Habiba, West Shmeisani Elementary, and Bayader Wadi El-Sir Elementary School for Boys — Orange will provide students with eLEARNMENT’s electronic syllabus and various interactive applications, all of which are presented through tablet devices offered by BCI, the official Samsung dealer in the Kingdom. This not only spares the students the physical strain of carrying heavy schoolbags but also serves to familiarize them with cutting-edge educational tools designed to facilitate the learning process. eLEARNMENT plans to continue its efforts to help students replace their conventional schoolbags with the much lighter electronic “smart packs.”
Moreover, Orange was careful to provide schools with high speed fiber and microwave Internet connections to facilitate the exchange of information digitally, in addition to offering comprehensive technical support to both teachers and students.
Orange Jordan explained that this agreement stems from the operator’s unwavering commitment to promote e-learning as a powerful, cost-effective and environmentally friendly approach to education, which falls in line with its long-term objective of serving as a trusted partner in Jordan’s digital transformation.
