Orange Jordan recently bid farewell to its CEO for the past three years, Jean-Francois Thomas, welcoming its new CEO, Jerome Henique,. The announcement was made during a farewell celebration held in honor of Thomas at the Sheraton Hotel in Amman.

With more than 20 years in the ICT field, Henique brings with him a wealth of expertise spanning a multitude of markets around the globe, including France, Spain and Senegal. Prior to joining Orange Jordan as CEO, he worked as Deputy CEO of Sonatel — a France Telecom subsidiary based in Dakar. He also served as Chief Marketing Officer at Orange Group.

“I am beyond excited to be joining the Orange Jordan family and to build on the many impressive achievements made by Mr. Jean-Francois Thomas,” commented Henique. “With the recent launch of Orange’s new 2020 strategy, the operator has defined for itself a series of ambitious targets, and I look forward to collaborating with the team toward ensuring the realization of our ambitious strategy, delivering an unmatched experience to Orange Jordan’s customers. On a personal level, I am certain that my entry into the Jordanian market will bring numerous experiences that will help broaden my horizons.”

Thomas had completed his three-year contract with Orange Jordan that began on October 1 2012, leaving behind a rich track record of achievements that include the introduction of the operator’s large-scale transformation program, NAMBAU, the introduction of Orange’s five-year strategy, Essentials 2020, the launch of the operator’s 4G network, and others. He is recognized by his colleagues and friends for his determination, insightful leadership and charismatic nature.

“For the past three years, I have felt at home among my colleagues at Orange Jordan, which has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” explained Thomas. “We have been able to achieve plenty within such a short time, and it is without a doubt due to the combined effort of the remarkable team we have created. Although I am saddened to leave, I am also proud to welcome Mr. Jerome Henique as new CEO, knowing full well that his extensive experience in the field will help steer Orange in the right direction over the coming years.”

Henique will assume his responsibilities as CEO as of September 1 2015.
