Ooredoo teams up with Dar Al Atta’a during World Food Day
Inspired by its commitment to make a difference and enrich lives in the communities it serves, Ooredoo launched a food donation drive in association with Dar Al Atta’a as part of its efforts to support the underprivileged during World Food Day. Under the initiative, Ooredoo’s family members contributed cash donations, as well as non-perishable items, with Ooredoo providing matching employee contributions. The items were then delivered to Dar Al Atta’a by Ooredoo employees, who were on hand to help sort the items and prepare them to be dispatched to those in need.
Taking place each year on the 16 October, World Food Day is a day of action against hunger, inspired by the values of humanitarianism and the vision of eradicating malnutrition and starvation. Organised this year under the global message ‘Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too’, the 2016 World Food Day aims to encourage the sustainable growth of food systems to help farmers adapt to the adverse effects of global warming.
