Ooredoo Supports in Recovery Relief Efforts from Cyclone Shaheen

Continuously placing ‘family’ at the centre of every aspect of its operations, Ooredoo’s Goodwill team were on the ground and provided food supplies to local communities in Al Batinah, one of the most impacted areas due to Cyclone Shaheen. The company also provided unlimited WhatsApp data for three days to residents in Al Suwaiq, Saham, Al Khabora and Al Musanah to stay connected with loved ones. Extending support, Ooredoo collaborates with Oman’s Charitable Organisation and Dar Al Atta’a on a campaign to raise funds for people in the affected areas.
Ooredoo technology team was leading a 24/7 special operational room to run the restoration of affected sites due to Cyclone Shaheen. Dr Ahmed Abdullah Al-Abri, Chief technology & Information officer said “All our technology teams were putting special preparations including additional teams, additional power generators and other logistics. The teams are working around the clock to rectify the affected sites to keep our customers connected”
Ooredoo’s CEO Noor Al Sulaiti visited various areas to asses and check on network outages and resolve any disruptions caused by the cyclone. Technical teams are currently working around the clock to ensure services are restored to peak performance.
